Rochester Movie Makers Mind2Movie-2010!

It is on, save the dates, February 18th through February 21st RMM will host the first 72 Hour Film Competition, Mind2Movie-2010. Meet Thursday night, you will get a line of dialogue, a prop and a character that needs to be in your finished 6 minute film. You have until Sunday night to finish and compete for cash prizes of $250 and $100. Early bird team registration runs through 12/31/09. $40 for non-voting members/ $25 for voting members (each team needs two voting members to qualify for the discount). More information is coming.

Rochester Movie Makers Christmas Re-Gifting Party

December 28th, 6:30pm is the date of the next Members meeting. This is our annual fundraiser. Bring $10, a gift you got that you do not want or need re-wrapped and come exchange it for another maybe cooler gift. This is always a blast. There will be food and drink. The location is TBD.
RMM Youth Outreach

Bryan Little is leading the RMM Youth Outreach. RMM is working with The Webster Recreation Center on a project involving several youth. They are remaking a rather sterile health video into something with more street cred. For more information on helping with this project, email stan@RochesterMovieMakers.org.
Film Projects You Can Be Involved In:

After is a 9/11 themed feature with a heavy LA based crew shooting on 35 MM film right now. This is a very tight well run set and great experience. They are looking for hands. If you’d like to intern with this 21 day shoot, email Susan Leber at leber2000@yahoo.com. They are also looking for additional hair and makeup support. Enthusiasm and an ability to follow instructions is all that is required. They shoot Sunday – Fridays.
2nd Story Man is an 18-day shoot, 1/4 through 1/23, Mondays through Sundays. Only one night shoot. They need a handful of PAs each day, for all sorts of jobs (traffic control, craft services, transportation, etc.) -- but to share the burden among about 20 PAs. It's unpaid, but for food. It's a feature film ("Second-Story Man") directed by Neal Dhand, produced by Discreet Charm Productions, Scott Lancer and Rick Staropoli, in association with Film Orange. This will be a heavy local crew and a great opportunity to meet and know one of Rochester’s finest film making companies.
