Rochester Movie Makers Summer Shorts

Several short films are in production as part of the RMM Summer Shorts-2010. Donna DePalma Summer View shot 3 days over the Memorial Day weekend and looks amazing. It was a very memorable Memorial Day!
There are many more short films scheduled throughout the summer (see below). For more information, see the Forum postings at www.RochesterMovieMakers.org/forum. Limited or no experience is welcomed on most of the sets. More information is also available every Thursday at the RMM Producer meetings.

RMM Writer Group-LOCATION AND TIME CHANGE!

The RMM Writer group meets this Sunday at a NEW LOCATION. Help us spread the word. The Writer Group meeting starts at Noon at 311 Alexander Street, Rochester. Bring 10 pages of your screenplay for a group reading (enough copies for each character in the story) and some good feedback.
RMM Member Meetings

Rochester Movie Makers is looking for a new home for Member meetings. The Visual Studies Workshop is no longer available. We are tentatively planning on returning to the Brighton Library, 2300 Elmwood Ave for the June and July meetings, but that is tentative as of this writing. If you know a good location we can approach about hosting RMM permanently preferably downtown with plenty of free parking, let Stan know at stan@RochesterMovieMakers.org.

An afternoon of student films at the Dryden Theatre (George Eastman House) June 12, noon - 5pm Tickets $5.00 Co-director Matt Murphy is encouraging fans and professionals to come out and see the screenings.

Documentary Film Class This Summer

Documentaries have become more popular due to recent technological and social changes that have impacted the form itself. This production workshop will provide an introduction to the documentary form, the basics of shooting, time to shoot a short digital video, the opportunity to hone interview skills and evaluation of your footage in preparation for editing. Wendy Smith is an independent film/video maker who teaches documentary and ethnographic film.
