Member Meeting

This Monday, 8/30 is the next RMM Member meeting. We will meet again this month at the Brighton Library, 2300 Elmwood Ave. The RMM Member meeting will start at 6:30pm. We are still looking for a more permanent home for RMM Member meetings and may have some exciting news about a new very cool home at the meeting.
Josh Pies Speaks

This Mondays RMM Member meeting will feature Josh Pies a local filmmaker and a former manager of a film equipment rental agency. Josh will talk about the top dos and do nots for equipment rentals.
Walk the Dream
-------------------------------------------
The Walk the Dream Team is still walking the dream. They are crossing the country by foot, recording many of their steps and the stories of dreams along the way. They are currently in Syracuse…Kansas. Who knew there even was a Syracuse Kansas? They will shortly cross over to Colorado. They expect to be back in Rochester in November and are booked to speak at the November RMM Member meeting. Save the date.
RCTV

We have a pilot shot and waiting edit for a new potential series of RMM community TV episodes. The series is tentatively titled The Rochester Movie Makers Directors Forum. It will be an opportunity for local directors to be interviewed about their short films and broadcast on RCTV and other local community TV stations.
RMM Summer Shorts

Many RMM members have been busy beavers this summer shooting short films. This weekend Wayne Coughlin is shooting one of the last of more than 6 short films. Its been an amazing summer for many actors, directors, sound supervisors, DPs, and crew. Thanks to everyone who has helped us sweat out hot days, harsh attics, young actors, and the various set struggles and conflicts. Its been a great learning experience and a very memorable summer. Stay tuned for screen times this fall to see some of the great work.
RMM Writer Group

The Rochester Movie Makers Writer Group is cancelling their meeting Sunday. The meets will resume every other week starting next week. The next RMM Writer Group Meetings are :
September 5, NOON - 2pm at the PITA PIT, 311 Alexander Street, Rochester
September 12, NOON - 2pm at the PITA PIT, 311 Alexander Street, Rochester
RMM Executive Committee

RMM Board elections are held every September. This year, the positions of Chair and Secretary are up for election. Anyone interested in running for those positions should let the Executive Committee know either at the Member meeting Monday or at the next Executive Board meeting September 9th.
The RMM Executive Committee is the backbone of RMM. The current members of the board have served on the board since its inception in one capacity or another. The sustainability of RMM past the current group of Executive Committee members depends on having others in the community who are willing to serve. If you have an interest in serving, please do so, there are meetings every Thursday at the Little Theater Cafe starting at 6pm.
Consider getting your feet wet serving in one of the At Large non-elected positions. We need help with PR, Community Outreach, and experts in the field of film and video who are looking to increase their pool of talent and help guide the wealth of eager beginners in all fields of film production Rochester has.
